GivingTuesday is a global generosity movement, unleashing the power of people and organizations to transform their communities and their world. GivingTuesday will kick off the generosity season this year by inspiring people to give back on November 29, 2022, and throughout the year.

Joy of Community Foundation is coming up on its 5th year of operation. In celebration of GivingTuesday, we wanted to express our gratitude to all of the generous donors who have contributed to our mission. Through your efforts we have been able to bring education, healthcare, and meals to over 50 students in Kazo District, Uganda. Additionally, we have been able to provide for the broader community through development efforts which secure clean water, improve farm and housing structures, and maintain and expand school and healthcare facilities.

GivingTuesday was launched in 2012 as a simple idea: to create a day that encourages people to do good. Over the past ten years, this idea has grown into a global movement that inspires hundreds of millions of people to give, collaborate, and celebrate generosity.

In our continued effort to bring joy to Kazo, District Uganda, Joy of Community Foundation is hoping to spread awareness of our mission and reach out to new individuals who can support our programs. Joy of Community Foundation has been working tirelessly this year towards a major expansion effort which would allow us to bring on more team members, expand our programs, and establish new partnerships with other organizations and foundations.

Through these efforts, Joy of Community Foundation and our partner Health Vision Agency Uganda will be able to bring more students back into the classroom, provide healthcare to more community members in need, and create new opportunities for vocational training in the region. This will not be possible without your continued support and your personal assistance in bringing attention towards our efforts. We ask that you make a contribution towards our general fund, take on an individual student sponsorship, or simply share our mission and message with your friends and family.

Joy of Community Foundation has also been reflecting on the ways that we can also bring joy back to our own communities. People demonstrate generosity in many ways on GivingTuesday. Whether it’s helping a neighbor or stranger out, showing up for an issue or people we care about, or giving to causes we care about, every act of generosity counts. GivingTuesday has raised billions of dollars for critical causes around the world and gets 21 billion impressions on social media from people and organizations speaking up for the causes that matter to them and encouraging others to get involved in their communities.

“GivingTuesday inspires people all around the world to embrace their power to drive progress around the causes they care about, not just on one day but throughout the year.” said Asha Curran, GivingTuesday’s CEO, and co-founder. “With country and community leaders, millions of organizations, and countless givers of all kinds, GivingTuesday is creating a shared space where we can see the radical implications of a more generous world.”
