Greetings JOCF supporters,

We hope you are enjoying these long hot summer days. In Engari, it is also quite hot, but the length of the days doesn’t change. That’s life on the equator, consistent sunrise and sunset all year.

The second term of the school year will soon be complete; students are studying hard and taking exams. Thanks in part to money from school fees that JOCF provides, our schools have been making improvements. Solomon Memorial Primary School has been freshly painted (see photo), with a new entranceway having been built as well. Bright Future School has added a new classroom building (see photo), and has fenced the shallow dam that is used to collect water during the driest times of year.

In other news, we are in the planning phase of constructing our office space as part of our partner organization HEVIA Uganda’s future hospital facility in Engari! We are excited to be partnered with this wonderful organization, which provides health care to our sponsored children and the community at large. The managing director of HEVIA Uganda, Deus Mwijuke, is also the director of JOCF Uganda.

During the planning and construction of our future office, we have recently secured a modest building that we will rent as our interim office (see photo). We will have furniture and a sign post within a couple of weeks!

Stay tuned for the next round of letters, academic reports, pictures, and updates in the coming weeks. If you have any friends or family who would like to sponsor a child, now is the time as a new term approaches!

Thanks very much for your continued support!!

Jesse, Ryan, Colleen, and John
