Bright lives with her mother in the Engari region. Her mother, a widow, acts as the single head of the household and takes care of all ten family members, eight of which are children. To provide for the entire family, Bright’s mother cultivates other community members land. This leaves very little, if anything left, for her to help pay for Bright to attend school. She even struggles to have enough to clothe all family members. Bright would like to attend Solomon Memorial as a boarding scholar and hopes to become a doctor one day.
